Winston-Salem, N. C.The Winston-Salem Open, the last stop on the Emirates US Open Series, announced its player field on Wednesday.

The tournament is an ATP250 event, but in its relatively short existence has developed a reputation for consistently strong draws as many players choose to tune up one more time just prior to the last major of the season. The 2016 field does not feature a player ranked lower than No. 72 in the world, which marks the second-best cutoff in the tournament’s six-year history.

We as a staff are thrilled to see such a high number of players returning for their fourth and fifth years at the Winston-Salem Open, but we’re equally as thrilled with the number of new players that have signed up to come play here this summer,” said Winston-Salem Open Tournament Director Bill Oakes. “The fact that players return and we have more players signing up to make their first appearance here tells us we are doing things the right way here in Winston-Salem and we’re excited to get play underway again next month.”

Aside from the names listed below, 10 spots have been held and will be announced in August with four of those being wild card entries. Players such as Tomas Berdych, Kevin Anderson, Gilles Simon and Fernando Verdasco have entered via a wild card in the past.
