FollowUS Open To Offer Richest Purse in Tennis History
A record $46.3 million in total prize-money will be offered at the 2016 U. S. Open, making it the richest purse in tennis history.
Of this total, $3.5 million will be awarded to both the men's and women's singles champion.
“We are proud that this year’s US Open will offer the richest purse in tennis history,” said USTA President and US Open Chairwoman Katrina Adams. “We continue to invest in all aspects of this world-class event to provide the best services and experiences for the players, our fans and all of the US Open partners.”
The Championships will begin on August 29th, in Flushing Meadows, N. Y.
