Todd Upchurch Earns USPTA Master Professional Distinction

ORLANDO, Fla - The United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) honored Todd Upchurch for achieving Master Professional status, the highest professional rating within the tennis profession at the Awards Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 13  during the NEXT Generation: A Tennis Innovation Workshop powered by USTA & USPTA at the Renaissance Orlando at SeaWorld.

For a member to receive Master Professional status, members must be a USPTA Elite Professional for more than 10 years before becoming eligible for the Master Professional designation. Then each must fulfill a broad spectrum of requirements, including making significant achievements in areas such as tennis teaching and coaching, business, education and volunteer work.

Todd Upchurch is the Director of Serve It UP Tennis Academy. Founded in 2010, Upchurch manages clubs and administers for after school elementary programs in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also the founder of 3v3 World Tennis Tour, an alternative tournament format for juniors. He has been a USPTA Elite Professional since 1996. Upchurch was the 1999 NC USPTA Pro Year and 2008 Pride of the South winner for USPTA Southern.

The USPTA National Awards program is conducted annually. Nominations are submitted by the organization's 17 divisions and by individuals. Recipients in each category are decided by the USPTA Awards Committee.
