STATS FROM THE ATP WORLD TOUR FINALS:

- World No. 1 Novak Djokovic becomes the first player in tournament history (since 1970) to win four successive titles and five overall, drawing him level with Ivan Lendl (1981-82, '85-87) and Pete Sampras (1991, '94, '96-97, 1999).
- The Serbian receives $2,061 ,000 in prize money and earns 1,500  Emirates ATP Rankings points.
- Djokovic finishes the year with an 11-4 record in finals (including three Grand Slams and six ATP World Tour Masters 1000 titles) and an 82-6 match record.
- Djokovic and third seed Roger Federer contested their fifth title match at the season finale and their 44th meeting (tied 22-22).
- Djokovic finished year-end No. 1 in the Emirates ATP Rankings for the fourth time in the past five years (2011-12, '13-15).
- Six-time champion Federer is now 88-47 in tour-level finals, ending with a 6-5 mark in title matches for 2015.
- The Swiss beat Djokovic 7-5, 6-2 in their Group Stan Smith round-robin match on Tuesday.
Federer, 34, finishes the year as the oldest player in the Top 10 of the Emirates ATP Rankings since No. 7 Agassi (aged 35).
- Second seeds Jean-Julien Rojer and Horia Tecau captured their 11th team title - third of 2015 - by clinching the doubles crown.
- The Dutch-Romanian pair clinched year-end No. 1 in the Emirates ATP Doubles Team Rankings with victory over Bob and Mike Bryan in Saturday's semi-finals.
- Rojer and Tecau are the first doubles team to win the season finale title without dropping a set in round-robin history (since 1986).
- Eighth seeds Rohan Bopanna and Florin Mergea were the last team to qualify for the event. Bopanna also finished runner-up with Mahesh Bhupathi in 2012 (l. to Granollers-M. Lopez).

WHAT THE PLAYERS SAID

Djokovic: “It's been an incredible season. Other than Doha, I've played all finals. Obviously, sitting here with this trophy alongside me, I couldn't ask for a better finish of the season. The last four years I managed to win the [Barclays] ATP World Tour Finals, where the best players in the world are playing.

“I've been trying to really pay as equal attention to the work and the recovery, as well, mental and physical. It allows me to have the longevity. It allows me to have the matches and the tournaments I've had in the last couple years.

“But this season definitely stands out. I can't say I expected it, not at all. But I always gave my best, and I'm always asking from myself the most. I was always hoping that I can play this well throughout the entire season. Managing to reach this kind of season and achievement this year obviously gives me a lot of confidence for anything that is coming in the future.”

Federer: “It would have been nice to serve a little bit better early on in the match, play better overall on his second serve, because he does allow you to play on his second serve. Maybe at times I went for too much. The moments where I should have gone safe, I didn't, and vice versa. Those are the two regrets I have.

“I thought it was a good match. It was close. First six games were tough, to be down 2-4. I had my chances to at least be even. But I thought he played well. Still [a] high-quality match, I thought.”

Rojer: “It's a great end to the year. It's such a nice event, a big tournament, a big prize to win at the end of the year. It's just a culmination of the whole year. I think we had a good year together.”

Tecau: “This year has brought a lot of confidence. After winning in Wimbledon we believed that we can win every tournament that we play. So far we believe that we can win. But actually going out there and do it brought a lot of confidence for the rest of the year.”

Bopanna: “It was just a tough day today. It's been a great week, making it in the final, first time outing for us as a team. And for the season, starting out in April, playing just about a handful of tournaments and to qualify here, I think it's been a fantastic year for us. We can take a lot of positives from this year.”

Mergea: “It's been a pleasure to play in the [Barclays] ATP World Tour Finals title match. Obviously, this has been the first time two Romanians play the doubles final here. I think it's an historic day for us. The match was decided by one or two points.”
