Seeds announced for Fed Cup play-offs

The ITF has announced the seeds for the Draw for the 2018 Fed Cup by BNP Paribas World Group and World Group II play-offs. The Draw will take place on Tuesday 13 February at the ITF offices in London at 10:00 GMT. Follow the Draw live on www. twitter.com/fedcup and www. twitter.com/fedcup_es

The seeds are based on the new ITF Fed Cup Nations Ranking of 12 February.

The four seeded nations in the World Group play-offs are:

Belarus (1), Switzerland (2), Netherlands (3), Belgium (4).

Each of the seeds will be drawn against one of the following unseeded nations:

Australia, Italy, Romania, Slovakia.

The four seeded nations in the World Group II play-offs are:

Russia (1), Spain (2), Ukraine (3), Great Britain (4).

Each of the seeds will be drawn against one of the following unseeded nations:

Canada, Japan, Latvia, Paraguay.

The 2018 World Group and World Group II play-offs will take place alongside the World Group semifinals on 21-22 April. In the semifinals, Germany will be at home to Czech Republic, and France will be at home to USA.

Fed Cup by BNP Paribas is the World Cup of Tennis.
