FollowNadal, Cilic And Zverev Headline Davis Cup Nominations
World No. 2 Rafael Nadal will lead Spain's bid to reach the Davis Cup by BNP Paribas semifinals for the first time since 2012, after Sergi Bruguera named a formidable side to take on Germany in Valencia on 6-8 April.
Nadal, who has a 22-1 win-loss record in Davis Cup singles rubbers, will join-up with Roberto Bautista Agut, Pablo Carreno Busta, Feliciano Lopez and David Ferrer for his nation’s 17th meeting with Germany in Davis Cup next week.
Germany, whose wait for a place in the semifinals stretches back to 2007, will field world No. 5 Alexander Zverev, Philipp Kohlschreiber, Jan-Lennard Struff, Tim Puetz and Maximilian Marterer for the trip to Spain.
