Victoria Azarenka

By completing the Sunshine Double (back-to-back titles at BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open), Victoria Azarenka was voted WTA’s Player of the Month. The Belarusian became the third woman in WTA history to achieve the Sunshine Double, after Steffi Graf (1994, 1996) and Kim Clijsters (2005). The former World No.1 is now back in the Top 5 (No.5) for the first time since March 2014.

During the third round of the BNP Paribas Open, Agnieszka Radwanska defended an overhead from Romania’s Monica Niculescu with a running-forehand winner. The three-time WTA Shot of the Year winner (2013, 2014, 2015) earned the WTA Shot of the Month in February and once again in March.

23-year-old Nicole Gibbs has started 2016 with good pace, reaching the fourth round at the BNP Paribas Open where she upset compatriot Madison Keys in straight sets and challenged two-time Wimbledon Champion Petra Kvitova to three sets. Following her run in the desert, Gibbs reached the third round of the Miami Open, earning March’s Breakthrough Performance of the Month.
