Due to a pending custody battle, Victoria Azarenka has withdrawn from the Australian Open. The 2-time champion has not competed since Wimbledon last year.

“It’s unfortunate ‘Vika’ is unable to travel to Australia this year. The Australian Open is her favorite tournament and she’s looking forward to returning to Melbourne next year,” tournament director Craig Tiley said.
