A fan favorite has decided to leave the spor of tennist. Ana Ivanovic recently announced her retirement from professional tennis.

“I’ve decided to retire from professional tennis,” she said on social media. “It has been a difficult decision, but there is so much to celebrate. 

“I can only play if I can perform up to my own high standards, and I can no longer do that. It’s time to move on

“Don’t be sad, be optimistic alongside me. My love and my greatest thank you to all of you.”

Ivanovic finishes her career with 15 career WTA titles including the 2008 French Open title. She held the world no. 1 ranking for 12 weeks. The Serb was ranked 63rd at the time of her announcement. A series of injuries played a roll in the decison of the newlywed, who married soccer star Bastian Schweinsteiger last summer.
